Day 1: San Francisco - San Jose (41 miles)

Today, you'll arrive in San Francisco and meet your tour guide at the airport.
Domestic arrivals, gather at Level 1 Courtyard 4.
International arrivals, meet at the International Terminal Bus Courtyard G.
Your guide will then escort you to the hotel for check-in.

Day 2: San Jose - Sacramento - Elko (461 miles)

Today you'll depart from San Francisco and head towards Nevada. As you will pass through Sacramento, we will stop to see the California State Capitol. Afterward, you'll drive to Elko and enjoy the desert views along the way. We will spend the night in Elko, NV.

Founded in 1849, Sacramento was at the heart of the gold rush, Pony Express, and first trans-continental railroad. Today it serves as the capital of the state of California and one of its most important cities.

  • At the State Capitol, the past, present and future of California interact with equal force. The building serves as both a museum and the state's working seat of government. Visitors to the Capitol can at once experience California's rich history and witness the making of history through the modern lawmaking process.

Day 3: Elko - North Yellowstone (Upper Loop) (361 miles)

Get ready for an amazing trip in Yellowstone's north! Your adventure starts in North Yellowstone through the west entrance, where you'll see the beautiful Upper Loop. On this tour, you'll visit Norris Geyser Basin, Paint Pots, Mammoth Upper and Lower Terraces, Liberty Cap, and Roosevelt Arch. Each place has its own special beauty that will amaze you. After a day full of incredible sights, you'll sleep in North Yellowstone.

  • This large complex of hot springs is impressive both for its unique beauty as well as its scale. Formed hundreds of thousands of years ago by volcanic and seismic activity, these springs are one of Yellowstone's most popular spots.

  • Fountain Paint Pot, heated by the region's underground hot springs, F.P.P is half hot spring, half mud basin. The spring releases natural shades of red and yellow because of the oxidation of iron in the soil.

  • A rusticated triumphal arch at the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The top of the arch is inscribed with a quote from the Organic Act of 1872, the legislation which created Yellowstone, which reads: "For the Benefit and Enjoyment of the People".

Day 4: Yellowstone National Park - Grand Teton National Park - Jackson Hole - Idaho Falls (139 miles)

After breakfast, get ready for an exciting day packed with Yellowstone's most amazing sights! You'll explore Lower Loop including Upper and Lower Yellowstone Falls, Yellowstone Canyon, Artist Point, Grand Prismatic Spring, West Thumb Geyser, Yellowstone Lake, Old Faithful Geyser, and Tower Fall. Then, you'll leave through the south entrance and head to Grand Teton National Park. Here, you'll have time to enjoy the breathtaking views of this natural gem. Your day ends with a visit to the charming town of Jackson Hole. After all these adventures, you'll rest for the night in Idaho Falls.

  • This waterfall in Yellowstone National Park gets its name from the rock spires that sit at the top of the 132 foot drop along the Tower Creek in the northwestern region.

  • Located a quarter-mile upstream of the larger Lower Falls, the Upper Yellowstone River Falls plunge 109 feet down an eroded lava cliff into the basin below. The area below the falls has been subject to heavier erosion than above.

  • The Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River in Wyoming are the largest by volume in the Rocky Mountains of the western United States, and they stand more than 300 feet tall-- almost twice as high as Niagara Falls.

  • This impressive gap in the earth in the first large canyon on the Yellowstone River. It is 24 miles long, and can reach a quarter-mile in depth and 3/4 a mile in width. It is gorgeously colored.

  • Named after the famous sketches of the waterfalls by Thomas Moran (but not actually the location where the sketched were done) this beautiful location showcases one of the most famous views in Yellowstone National Park.

  • The third largest hot spring in the world, the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring gets its color from bacteria around its rim that feed off of the mineral-rich water. In the summer months, the hot spring is a vivid red-orange shade.

  • Old Faithful is a cone geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park. It is one of the park's most well-known natural features, and is famous for its predictability. It generally erupts every 91 minutes.

  • The West Thumb Geyser Basin is the largest geyser basin at Yellowstone Lake, and an impressive area of geothermal activity that contains hot springs, mud pots, and geysers-- some of which are even in the lake itself.

  • Yellowstone Lake isn't just the largest single body of water in Yellowstone National Park, but the largest elevated freshwater lake in the US. The lake contains several underwater hot springs that melt its otherwise thick ice sheets in the winter.

Grand Teton National Park is located in the Rocky Mountains, Northwest Wyoming. Grand Teton National Park is noted for its stunning mountain vistas, its shimmering alpine lakes and its abundant wildlife.

Famous frontier town, located at the crossing of Grand Teton and Rocky Mountains, it became a heaven for outdoors sports enthusiast. The widely praised Elk Antler Arches Park, with its four arches made with thousands of elk antlers is a must see.

Day 5: Idaho Falls - Salt Lake City - Canyonlands National Park - Green River (461 miles)

You'll visit the Great Salt Lake, Utah State Capitol, and Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Then you'll explore Canyonlands National Park, known for its dramatic desert landscapes and deep canyons. You'll end the day in Green River, a charming town along the scenic Green River, where you'll stay overnight.

Utah's gorgeous capital city sits amidst the mountains of the American Southwest on the shores of the breathtaking Great Salt Lake. The city is steeped in history and architecture in addition to wondrous vistas and scenery.

  • The home of all of the governmental processes for the state of Utah, the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City. The building is done in the ornate neoclassical revival style, purposefully reminiscent of the nation capitol in DC.

  • Approximately ten acres in size, Temple Square is the center of religious activity for the Church of Latter Day Saints, housing the Temple and Tabernacle that are central to the religion.

  • The largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere is the famous Great Salt Lake in northern Utah. People visit the lake's namesake, Salt Lake City, every year to see the natural wonder and tour its shores.

Canyonlands National Park is known for its dramatic desert landscape carved by the Colorado River. Island in the Sky is a huge, flat-topped mesa with panoramic overlooks. Whitewater rapids flow through Cataract Canyon.

Day 6: Green River - Arches National Park - Monument Valley - Page (230 miles)

Today you'll visit Arches National Park in the morning. In the afternoon we'll drive to Monument Valley, and you may even take a Jeep Tour to explore more about the valley at your own cost. Stay overnight in Page.

This 76,000+ acre park in western Utah is world-famous for its sandstone formations. The most iconic is the mighty Delicate Arch. The park also features formations like Landscape Arch, the longest natural arch in the world.

Monument Valley in Arizona is home to exquisite desert scenery and immense geological formations that can be seen for miles around. The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163.

  • Experience a unique and fascinating jeep tour in the Olijato-Monument Valley with a jeep tour led by Navajo Indian tribe members. Traverse into the valley to admire natural scenic beauty while learning about the valley's historical and cultural significance, history, and more.

Day 7: Page - Antelope Canyon - Horseshoe Bend - Las Vegas (287 miles)

Our first stop is the famous Antelope Canyon (surcharge), a natural geologic wonder sculpted by light and rock formations into a series of natural art pieces. Next, venture to Horseshoe Bend, a stunning meander in the Colorado River where the river surrounds a rock formation that resembles a horseshoe shape, offering spectacular views. Our itinerary includes passing by Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell, and finally, it will take you to the dazzling Las Vegas.

Page is a city in Coconino County, AZ, near the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. Page was founded in 1957 as a housing community for workers and their families during the construction of nearby Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River.

  • This concrete arch dam in northern Arizona barricades the Colorado River and creates Lake Powell, the second-largest man-made lake in the country. Lake Powell is a haven for water-skiers and boaters, and is also popular with fishermen.

  • Lake Powell is a beautiful reservoir along the Colorado River amid the vast desert expanses of Utah. It is in the vicinity of the Rainbow Bridge, Ticaboo Canyon, and iconic Antelope Canyon.

  • Horseshoe Bend, located within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area about 5 miles downriver from Lake Powell, is a sharp turn in the Colorado River that formed from erosion over the course of millions of years.

Antelope Canyon is a beautiful slot canyon located on the Navajo Nation near Page, Arizona. All areas of the Antelope Canyon are only accessible via Guided Tour at an additional cost.

  • The lower canyon is in the shape of a "V" and Longer, shallower than the Upper Antelope. Lighting is better in the early hours and late morning. It draws a considerable number of photographers.

Day 8: Las Vegas - San Francisco / Los Angeles (568 miles)

Today, you'll leave Las Vegas and journey back to San Francisco. Your route takes you through the vast Mojave Desert, the largest in the U.S. Keep an eye out for the world's largest solar power station and impressive windmill farms along the way. You'll reach San Francisco or Los Angeles in the evening, concluding your tour.

Las Vegas is known as the "Entertainment Capital of the World" for a good reason-- casinos and hotels line its streets, and visitors can gamble, see shows, and shop at virtually any hour of the day or night.

  • The Mojave Desert in the southwestern United States extends from California into Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. Its most famous area is probably Death Valley, which holds the record for the highest temperature ever recorded on Earth.
